The #MonsterPartnerChallenge has finished and, after checking out hundreds of submissions, illustrations, comics and even stories, it was very difficult to choose the winners, just so many great entries, thanks a lot to everyone who participated! So, here are the results! 1- First place is @Estheryu ! The amount of color, characters, story-telling and technique are superb. I loved exploring with my eyes every bit of this piece and how it captures the feeling of partnership between cute monsters and humans in an amazing way. 2- Second place goes to @Sly-Mk3 I have to say I absolutely loved the idea and execution here. A whole monster as your own cozy eldritch room to hang out at and play games and such? Nothing beats that! Tentacle fun
Ah ha! Got your attention there, I'm sure. But hey hey no no don't worry this is not a a fake, I -am- featuring some very fine tentacles here in this post, so you can marvel looking at them too~ After all, there's so much that can be done with such a theme, hahaaa just not what you're probably thinking, see! Just lots of good detail, some are creepy, some are chewy and some are even handy with tools and can make a good partner. So many different themes and ideas can be explored, almost literally, hahaa, I feel I should study some more myself, if you follow me, then sure you know I draw tentacles from time to time but I have to step up my game, bwahaha so here I go, time to draw for myself~
Back home after AnimeExpo!
Finally our journey is over! No more airports, no more crowds..! Just came back from Los Angeles, and, after almost a full day between the first airport and then reaching home, and then another day of unpacking and cleaning the house, we're tired but happy haha. The expo was great, this was our booth with @AlpacaCarlesi, I felt a little intimidated seeing so many awesome artists. It was our first time, but I'm sure it won't be the last~! I feel we came a bit unprepared haha, our booth kinda looks a little messy, and since we weren't sure just how much merch to bring, we sold out on a lot of stuff by the 3rd and 4th day! Which actually is awesome, but I feel a little bad for the people who wanted stuff like my mini-artbook or some of the t-shirts that got sold out haaaa. But yeah, the thing is crazy, we had been to AnimeNYC a couple years ago, and it was also immense, but AX felt just... even bigger than that. It's crazy. Hey, I'm just some random watcher of yours, and I just want to say that I really like what you do....A LOT. You're probably the first and only artist that I've ever been a fan of. I mean, yeah, Da Vinci and all those other artists were good and all, but I don't look at their drawings every day and find new ways to be astonished by it. I mean, you're SUPER good at all of this...like some Super Artist or something, I don't know.
Anyway, I'm sorta an artist myself, but I don't post any of them up here...I don't think they're good enough for that yet...But whenever I look at your drawings...I kinda get...I don't know..inspired I guess...
Okay, I know this all sounds weird but...you're my favourite artist of all time and you inspire me every day whether or not you post something new and I hope that one day I can be as good of an artist as you are.
