Entering the contest now : D here's the template, hopefully it's good improvement.. it's... 6 years anyway. Whoa.

Somehow I feel like I would have expected more improvement for 6 long years... but oh well.

I also tried using the very same media and tools I used back then, even some of the same pencils too.

The old one is pretty simple. Girl sits on rock, eats fruit. One sole fruit hangs above her head, drawing attention up. Rock with face draws attention down. Not much going on in the background.

Then you've got the new one. This has the girl in an interesting pose, smelling the fruit perhaps instead of just nomming it. There is more shine in the dress, and the hair running down the front draws more attention to Mr. Rock. The tree trunks from the ground curve up from the ground, bringing the eye up to see the other background trees and the fruit hanging above the girl, who we focus back on.

The new one is a massive improvement over the old one. Yes while the old seems less human in a less human-like world, the new one has a new degree of elegance, and the format is far better.

So.. Great work :)

I like the old one better, just because her expression seems more interesting to me. She seems more human, less perfect and elegant. The old girl has a tummy on her, some messy, wispy hair, and you were less shy with the shading it seems. Your technical skills with the materials have improved, but I just like the personality of the older one better ^^;;

I love it both :) but preferred the old one.. maybe because of the background and the ambience of the picture.. :) Good job by the way! keep it up! :D

This reminds me of a darker version of the nina ricci fantasy perfume advert, I don't know if you've seen it or not... I like the drawing style and the shiny apples, yum!
